Suicide Prevention Conference x PPP
In partnership with Save Our Youth, Barnes Jewish Hospital, Midwest BankCentre, and Tabernacle of Paradise

Save Our Youth reached out to Izzy to give a presentation and poetry workshop at its annual suicide prevention conference.
Izzy's presentation at the Save Our Youth suicide prevention conference highlighted the healing potential of poetry for not only individuals struggling with mental health challenges, but for anyone, truly. Poetry offers a powerful creative outlet for processing complex, trauma, and grief that might otherwise feel overwhelming. Through expressive writing, individuals can find a unique way to explore their inner experiences, reduce physiological stress indicators, and develop emotional resilience.

During the workshop, Izzy used poems as examples of how writing about one's favorite place can be calming and immersive, allowing writers to relive cherished memories––or live memories that do not exist (yet)––find peace, and fully engage with the sensory details that make the place special.
